The Scribner Family

Kent and Suleyka Scribner equate Fort Worth with family. They relocated here from Arizona two years ago when Kent was named Fort Worth ISD superintendent. The move brought them closer to Kent’s parents - retired UT-Austin professor Dr. Jay D. Scribner and Texas State University professor emeritus Dr. Alicia Paredes Scribner.
This family of educators - Suleyka is also a teacher - settled into Fort Worth easily. They credit the congeniality of the people of this city for making them feel right at home.
Suleyka and Kent are also Fort Worth ISD parents. The youngest of their four children attends Westcliff Elementary. The Scribners enjoy attending McKinney Bible Church and fellowship with the community.
Kent appreciates the “can-do” spirit of the city, especially when it comes to education. Along with Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price and BNSF Executive Chairman Matt Rose, he is collaboratively leading a community-wide effort to have all third-graders reading above grade level by 2025.

The Bates Family

The Bates are richly blessed to have the “Fab Five,” Dan, Shelli, Whitney, Faith and Danny, double into the “Terrific Ten.” Whitney married the Honorable Dax Johnson and they are in grandparents-in-training with Dax II, the favorite grandson. Faith married Dr. Joe Pallone and they are in grandparent pledge ship with Gianna Bella and Gabriella Grace, the granddaughters of “Pops” and “Boogie.” Danny will no doubt carry on the Bates family name in due time.
Dan has lawyered for food with Decker Jones for forty years while Shelli has worked at Lockheed Martin since raising their kids. Whitney provides children speech therapy with her Masters in Speech Pathology. Dax works at Apex Capital taking it to new levels of success. A Registered Nurse, Faith takes good care of her patients while Dr. Joe teaches medical residents in obstetrics and gynecology. Danny is an actor and musician living Austin while the rest of the family live in greater Fort Worth.
Except the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain that build it. The Bates have faith in their Builder.
